The 3 peer editing checklists are very detailed checklists. Excellent for mixed or leveled classes to give students individualized instruction.

Crazy fun for the whole class! This category game is an enjoyable and helpful way to get students thinking in broad terms about main idea and supporting details, helping to ingrain the metacognitive structure of an important reading strategy.

This book project sheet can be used for an independent student project or a book that students are reading in a small-group or whole-class setting. Set up as a tic-tac-toe board, students are presented with 9 different options, of which they must make a tic-tac-toe by choosing three in a row diagonally, horizontally, or vertically. The options are targeted to address different learning styles and talents, including artistic, verbal, linguistic, and technological (as well as many others), and there are “assessment cards” on the next page so students know what qualities and aspects will be graded for each individual assignment.
